Amazon's announcement that it would halt acceptance of Visa (NYSE: V US) credit cards in the U.K. in January due to "high costs" comes at the same time that the e-commerce company is expanding an internal payment app and enhancing alternative point-of-sale credit. Visa feels the increasing pressure from big companies to slash its fees but this is not the only problem as fintech payment companies are cheaper and more flexible for e-payments. Visa shares are 10,58% down for the year and 23% lower since its previous high back in July.
